Flights are available now!
International flights to Chile leave from major U.S. airports. The destination airport would be SCL (Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport).
December is the beginning of summer in the southern hemisphere, so the days will likely be warm. Viña and Valpo have a climate that is similar to the central coast of California. The mornings often start off with a marine layer that burns off by midday. The daytime temperature usually stays around the mid-to-high 70s, reaching a maximum in the mid 80s. It starts to cool down in the evenings, and there is usually a cool coastal breeze. A light jacket is good to have for evening activities. In Casablanca, the daytime highs are similar but the evening lows are a little bit cooler since Casablanca is a valley. The wedding will be outdoors until the sun sets at around 9pm, then the reception will move indoors for dancing. It is a good idea to pack jeans and a jacket for any other nights you’ll be spending in Casablanca.
If you are travelling around Chile before or after the wedding, a car might be helpful for your travels. During the week of the wedding, you should not need a car. We can help you with getting from the airport to your accommodations. We will also help with coordinating transportation to and from the wedding. Uber is an easy option for getting around in Viña del Mar and Valparaiso, but often times they will not go to the airport (but we will help you with that).
We have compiled a list of tips and information here. We will continue to add items as the date gets closer! https://docs.google.com/document/d/10BRUV3yDoSxW6_U6zV5sMuGSDBMSZV8ahskMMl8yK3k/edit?usp=sharing
