Our Story

First comes love, then comes marriage...

Not many get to say they've grown up with their significant other, but I think that's what makes our story perfect. We have been together since high school, meeting after my family moved to Dawson, TX for a new coaching opportunity. After some time, we got to know each other pretty well, which isn't hard considering our high school only had ~100 students. Luke would frequently catch my pitching practice- but really that was just an excuse for us to be around each other. We have been a team since 2015, from cheering on the Aggies & graduating from A&M (whoop), to many Galveston visits while I was in PA school, and now we both get to be in Houston for Luke's medical school and my first job. That's 8 years, a ton of memories, and a million shared laughs. It has been tremendously fun watching the Lord's provision in our lives and relationship and we can't wait to share the celebration with YOU! - CP

The Engagement

It's about time!!

The day had been coming for many years, but I knew from the start that the secret would be nearly impossible to keep. I had carefully orchestrated a seemingly last-minute trip to Galveston in the guise of a day trip and early dinner. However, showing up to pick her up in a white button-down shirt may have started to sound off some alarms. Despite being forced to change my shirt, we continued on and spent an afternoon filled with doing our favorite things in Galveston- like getting coffee at Freckleberry and taking Caitlin to Marshall’s. As time got closer to sunset, she started to notice my nervousness, but we continued on to the beach for a “walk before dinner.” While our parents and a photographer patiently waited on the beach, Caitlin had us take a pit stop to check out a location she deemed “our future reception site.” Despite missing my assigned arrival time, we finally made it to the beach. When Caitlin noticed me not so subtly take something out of the back seat and put it in my pocket, I knew there was no longer a secret. As we walked over the bridge to the beach and she saw the sign saying, “Marry Me?”, her eyes lit up and I knew that all the planning was worth it. After a short speech that Caitlin would argue took two hours, I finally popped the question that she had waited years to answer yes to. In front of our family, in our favorite place, we set the foundation to an amazing future. -LD
