We're getting married!

Although Caitlin and Lopaka never met, God was quietly arranging their love story ensuring their paths will soon cross. It started when a dear aunt of Caitlin’s was praying for her and in her prayer for Caitlin, Lopaka came to mind as a suitor. She was moved to reach out to see if Lopaka was single, but Lopaka weirdly did not respond. Many months went by until Lopaka was given another opportunity to meet Caitlin. This time he did not disappoint.

Caitlin found out everything about Lopaka the moment she inquired about him—his age, his job, and where he lived. When her aunt mentioned that Lopaka would be at the NYTS BBQ and suggested they talk, Caitlin was nervous… but also kind of expecting it. Plot twist: Lopaka ignored her the entire time. Then Lopaka ended up joining Caitlin and her friends on a trip to San Diego, and Caitlin proceeded to pretend she had absolutely no idea who he was, despite knowing literally everything about him already. She found out he was easy to talk to, incredibly thoughtful, and she quickly realized they shared many of the same interests. Lopaka took a month to pray about it. Toward the end of that month, Caitlin began to lose hope and accepted that maybe Lopaka just wasn’t interested in the same way. But then plot twist again! On the very first day of September, her aunt reached out with exciting news: Lopaka wanted to move forward with the introduction. The next day, Lopaka texted her for the first time. After Caitlin sent her reply, she literally threw her phone across the workroom. They hit it off right away. They went one whole day without FaceTiming… and haven’t gone a day without it since. Caitlin is now the happiest, giggliest girl alive—thanks to Lopaka.

One of Lopaka’s first interactions with Caitlin was a quick pass by when she told a toddler to say hi to him. Interestingly, she called Lopaka by name and this stood out to Lopaka because he did not know who Caitlin was. All he knew about Caitlin was that she would sometimes be around another guy, and Lopaka thought that they were probably together. Turns out he is actually Caitlin’s first cousin… bad assumption. Several days later Lopaka was surprised by Caitlin’s auntie who pretended that she needed his help. Once Lopaka was taken away from the crowd, Caitlin’s auntie took him aside and revealed her true intent. She asked him directly if he would like to get to know Caitlin. Lopaka was completely unaware that Caitlin was also interested by this time, so he took his time in deciding how he should approach her. Thankfully after much thought and prayer, Lopaka and Caitlin decided to pursue a relationship together. Lopaka is incredibly joyful knowing that he has met his perfect match for life.

Caitlin and Lopaka equally felt that they had a special connection early on. Despite their geographical distance separating them, they were only feeling closer and closer to one another as they continued to converse. Time flew by during their interactions, and through prayer God gave them both the clarity and confidence that this was all according to His plan.
