The first time I remember meeting Caitlin was in middle school. We had gone to separate elementary schools before being combined in 6th grade at the new middle school. I vividly remember the day that she first talked to me. The previous day I had accidently fallen asleep in math class and passed gas. Her first words to me were telling me how funny she found that embarrassing moment to be. Flash forward to our senior year in high school. We had one Agriculture class together where I tried to make her laugh and impress her every day. That December I asked her to be my girlfriend (on her birthday no less, only have to remember one date!). From that time on, we have shared many memories. Whether it be taking day adventures, hiking, watching movies, or playing games, we always have the best time together. Through thick and thin, we have been by each others side. She has become one of my biggest supporters and my best friend. I can’t imagine living this life with anyone else by my side. During the summer of 2020, I made one of the best decisions of my life. I was finally going to ask Caitlin to marry me. With the help of others, I came up with a plan to ask her on my family vacation at the beach. After asking her father, the day finally came. On our last day, we walked down to the beach to take family pictures together. The plan was to have my sister-in-law take pictures of us. Near the end, I would surprise Caitlin with the ring and pop the question. I had the biggest smile on my face when she said yes! My hands and heart didn’t stop racing until hours after. The next adventure in our life was just beginning on that day and I can’t wait for many more to come
