Like many modern romances, ours began on a dating app—with a few good messages and then… nothing. Life got in the way, and that first date almost didn’t happen. That could’ve been the end of the story, but a year later, Jack came across Caitlin’s profile again and remembered her favorite movie: “Are you still looking for someone to watch Titanic with?” She was. We finally hit play on our fourth date and Caitlin knew she had found the Jack she’d “never let go.” There was room on this ship wreckage for two. Not long after, Caitlin’s dog, JD, met Jack’s dog, Huey. We can’t say they were as fond of each other as their parents were, but they’ve settled into life as stepbrothers. They would never admit to it, but we frequently find them cuddled up together. In October 2024, Jack proposed at a quiet spot near Morrison, Colorado that some of you might know as “The Crick.” In a move inspired by his favorite movie, Jurassic Park, he scooped up a few rocks while Caitlin wasn’t looking and pretended they were fossils, handing them over one by one for Caitlin to inspect. The final “fossil” was a ring. These days, we spend our time going to the movies, building LEGO sets, fossil hunting, making chicken spiedini, and the chaotic joy of two little dogs with very big personalities. We’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you!
