"Funtime" and "Mr. Speece". Unknowingly, they ran in parallel social circles for years and finally met on a group camping trip in San Clemente. The next time they crossed paths, almost a year later, sparks flew. They take one another as they are with plenty of playful teasing. He holds her to one strict standard..."You can do whatever you want...most of the time." She holds him to one standard as well..."Never make the morning coffee too weak."

Not seeing the need for a large audience, Ian proposed on the roof of their 12-story building in Downtown Long Beach. Are residents supposed to be up there... they're still unsure. But it was the perfect place to propose to the person he loved and wanted to share his life with. They often went up there to take in the view or watch the sunset, so Caitlin didn't suspect a thing. Ian looked so nervous, Caitlin thought he might throw up! Afterwards, knowing she had always wanted a surprise party which hadn't yet come, Ian drove her to the Garvey household. In the car ride over, Caitlin speculated the best way to "surprise" them with the news... Ian played along. Upon arrival, SURPRISE!!! The house was full of friends and family members, champagne glasses in hand, ecstatic for this new beginning. The festivities lasted until early in the morning. Caitlin is still unsure how Ian planned such an awesome surprise without her knowing.

As you all know, the pandemic delayed this celebration multiple times. Eager to start their lives together, Caitlin and Ian married in October 2020 in a small ceremony in the Garvey family backyard. The final delay was due to the fact that they were expecting a baby! Theo Daniel Speece was born October 26, 2021. For those of you we haven't been able to reconnect with since the pandemic began, we are so excited that you can celebrate our marriage with us and meet our baby boy!
