Don proposed to Caitlin here ā so this place holds a little extra magic for us. The Volunteer Park Conservatory is one of the last remaining Victorian-era glass greenhouses in the world, a landmark icon of Seattle, and one of Caitlinās favorite spots in the city. She served on the board for several years, helping steward this historic treasure. Itās beautiful in any season and well worth a visit.
Welcome to Seattleās version of Central Park. Green Lake Park surrounds a lake with a 3-mile walking and running path, open lawns, swimming areas, and plenty of space to relax or play. Caitlin and Don lived nearby for years and spent many mornings running the loop, picnicking in the grass, and (occasionally) practicing parkour. Caitlin also created a light art installation here one year a part of a winter festival. Itās one of those everyday Seattle spots we love most.
No visit to Seattle is complete without Pike Place Market... a vibrant, historic marketplace along the waterfront. Wander past fresh produce, seafood stalls and iconic fish-throwing, explore boutiques and specialty shops, enjoy sweeping views, great food, breweries, and people-watching around every corner. Right inside the Market, donāt miss Gallery ERGO ā an artist-owned gallery showcasing original works and prints from Seattleās local art community, and one of our favorite spots to pick out new pieces for our collection :)
Il Viale was Caitlinās go-to morning coffee shop ā her 6am headquarters when she was running the nearby performing arts theatre.
Not a coffee person? How about boba instead. Tea Addicts is a local favorite of Don and Caitlin, perfect for an afternoon treat or a quick pick-me-up. We especially recommend the Thai Tea and the Royal Milk Tea ā both are classics for a reason.
