Come explore the history, geology, mining, and building technology of Louisville. Mega Cavern is also home to the world’s only underground zip line course. We visit Mega Cavern at least once a year! We bring Jace and enjoy the Christmas lights and music playing throughout.

This museum serves as the official Welcome Center for the Bourbon Trail. Learn all about the history, craft and culture of Kentucky bourbon whiskey at their "Spirit of Kentucky" exhibition.

Churchill Downs

The site of the Kentucky Derby, often called "the most exciting two minutes in sports". Churchill Downs is great to visit, even when there are no live races. Spend a few hours touring the Kentucky Derby Museum, and you may be able to tour the track as well.

Bernheim Forest

Want to escape the city? At just $5 per car on the weekends or free during the week, Bernheim Forest is a great place to hike, picnic, or just relax in nature. Bernheim is a great way to spend a day or an afternoon!

Shelby Trails Park & Red Fern Riding Center

Red Fern Riding Center is great for experienced riders but also those who have never ridden a horse before! These are guided horseback rides through tall grasses, along wooded trails, and following sparkling streams. Come check it out, you’re in Kentucky after all!
