Our cancellation letter

Dear Friends and Family, With heavy hearts, we are sending you our wedding invitations along with this letter to tell you our wedding at Los Poblanos has been cancelled. Their events group has chosen to cancel all weddings for 2020 and 2021. We were shocked and devastated at the news, as only two weeks prior we had gone for our tasting there and the staff seemed optimistic about our late October wedding. We left also feeling positive, and hoping the wedding would proceed as planned, just likely in a smaller capacity. The governor of New Mexico has chosen to be quite conservative in her reopening strategy and at this moment is limiting any gathering to five people or less. For this reason and others, the decision was made to cancel all future events due to the unknown course of Covid-19 and the inability to keep on their event staff. We are deeply saddened at the loss of this event. We are saddened not to mark this important occasion and our commitment to one another in front of our amazing web of friends and family. Many of you probably wondered why we were having our wedding in Albuquerque, New Mexico of all places, and we were so very eager to show you why! We fell in love with Los Poblanos for its innate authenticity, which was something we had difficulty finding elsewhere. Nathan and I have spent many great times at Los Poblanos over this last year. It truly is one of the most unique places we have been. We loved that it offered tremendous beauty, set in the midst of lavender fields, a strong historic and cultural legacy, incredible food, and a quality and detailed design aesthetic. We hope one day you can still make it there for a visit. The tentative plan is to have a small elopement style ceremony there this fall, and when things are safer, we hope to have a celebration to commemorate our wedding and get to connect with you all in the way we really would like. We will be in touch when the timing is right. Love, Caitlin & Nathan
