C + C

I met Cameron on September 7th, 2021 in a tap dance class at Grand Canyon University. I took this course as part of my Dance Performance degree while he took the course "to meet girls". Regardless of the 'more than likely' lack of validity of his intention, when I first saw him in the studio, I remember thinking, "He's really cute..." But I was too nervous to speak to him alone. & so I never did. After classes, we would exchange light banter in group conversations & wish each other the casual sentiment of "Have a good one! See you on Thursday!" As the days carried on, we began to trade smiles of pride in ourselves & each other after nailing every new tap step. He was my strongest encourager, sharing affirmations when I would finally perform a step correctly after weeks of frustration. The class would not have been the same without his presence & his support. Even amidst the subtlety of our flirts, no real 'moves' were made to get to know one another outside of class. In his words now, "If you would've given me some sort of sign, I would've asked you out. I wanted to, I just thought you were out of my league." But what is a girl if not mysterious & quiet with her intentions? When the semester ended & the next began, our schedules piled up & took us in separate directions. A direction that did not include one another. For over a year, we focused on school, & our friends, & entered into the dating scene. Well, you know how that went... So, eventually, as we both found ourselves again in a period of singleness, Cameron made the best decision of his entire life. ;) On March 2nd, 2023, my dear friend Anna (& bridesmaid!) came to me with the most surprising news: "Someone approached me & asked about you. He said he has liked you for a while & didn't know you were available so he doesn't want to miss his opportunity to get to know you." In my mind, I ran through all the men I knew who could have said this. Never did I imagine it was Cameron. As she said his name, my jaw dropped & I glowed with excitement. Finaaaaalllyyyyyy!!!!!! I agreed to a date because why not? I greatly desired to give someone the love & care I had stored away within me... withheld for someone like him. Well, that one boba tea date turned into which turned into a beautiful relationship of adoration, encouragement, & hope. Now, nothing could've prepared me for the way in which Cameron has changed my life. He has made the world so beautiful by just existing in it! The trees are getting greener right before my eyes! Honey has never tasted so sweet! Life is more to me with him & I cannot wait to make up for all the years we spent apart... All of the years I have prayed for a man like him.
