Although Heather and Scott worked together at a casino since 2014, they never met until 2017 while on break. They hardly exchanged a word as their breaks were brief and they worked different schedules. It wasn’t until the following year, when they had the opportunity to have a proper conversation that they got to know each other. They were surprised at how easily their conversation flowed. “Heather remembers. “Being together felt natural, and there was never a dull moment. Our playful spirits and appreciation for the simple joys of life were present in our everyday lives, which made it easy to fall in love.” Scott was planning on popping the question in Hawaii while on vacation. The waterfall that he planned on proposing at turned out to be a 8 mile hike and the water was freezing. Although it was beautiful and so worth the hike he was worried about the ring falling off in the cold water and that Heather might have not wanted to “look a mess,” (Heather stated later when Scott told her his original plan) after the hike he decided to wait until they went on a night cap on the last night of the vacation. It was the perfect day. Scott taught Heather to surf for her first time that day and they had a nice meal. When they finished their drinks Scott asked Heather to go walk to the beach with her. The moon was bright and the night sky was beautiful. “Scott then confessing his desire to make me his wife was more than I could ever ask for in a proposal,” Heather gushes.
