In the summer of 2024, we met at 4:12 (young adult group) on a picnic table bench. We introduced ourselves and had some awkward conversations. I kept seeing him at church but I never had the courage to talk to him because he was always talking to other people. A couple months go by and a friend of mine gave me Taylor’s number. Then we started talking regularly and going on dates.
We had been planning a picnic for quite some time and finally chose a hot Sunday afternoon to go. We visited Harrington Beach State Park, which was especially busy that day, and ended up parking nearly a mile away due to the crowds. After a long walk, we found a nice spot and set up our picnic, enjoying a relaxing afternoon together. During the picnic, I had arranged for a friend to meet us with his children to take some photos. The day before, I had shared my proposal plans with him so he would know exactly what to expect. When he arrived, I asked him to take a few pictures of us near the scenic quarry pond. I suggested we pose holding hands with our backs turned to the camera. Although Maggie was a bit hesitant at first, I convinced her. As we stood there, I quietly stepped back and knelt on one knee. When she turned around, I was already in tears before I could even say a word, and then I asked her to be my wife.
