How we met

Braves games bring love

Aaron and Kelsey initially met at a singles group through Buckhead Church during a Braves game outing. They chatted for a little bit but no sparks flying just yet. They eventually were a part of the same friend group and would see each other periodically at social events. Eventually, Aaron built up the courage to ask Kelsey out on a date. The first date was a lunch at Cafe Intermezzo, then a couple more casual dates after that. At the time, Kelsey was having a hard time seeing Aaron as more than just a friend so she decided to maintain the friendship...but Aaron didn't give up. After months of becoming closer friends, a group trip to Hilton Head, and a few deep talks later, Aaron's persistence paid off. Kelsey decided to give it another shot because she saw how much Aaron valued her and was willingly to pursue her. Both her and Aaron are grateful she did.

the Proposal

Down on Horseshoe Bend(ed) knee

Conveniently, Aaron and Kelsey already planned to visit Arizona with two friends, which made it the perfect backdrop for a proposal. The day of, they spent the day hiking 9 miles total up and down the Grand Canyon but still had to drive 2 hours to Page, Arizona to make it in time for sunset. Needless to say, they were more running up the canyon rather than walking. Kelsey's friends, Emily and Sara made sure she looked nice before going out to see Horseshoe Bend, which surprisingly Kelsey did not grow suspicious. They made it to see beautiful Horseshoe Bend (a horseshoe-shaped incised meander of the Colorado River located near the town of Page, Arizona; HIGHLY recommend seeing!) just in time for sunset. Because it was one of the most popular times to see the Bend, there were large crowds of people scattered around the canyon, but Aaron and Emily kept trying to discreetly guide Kelsey to a more secluded area (again how did you not know Kelsey?!). They eventually found a secluded view and while Kelsey was busy taking photos of the view, Aaron gave the thumbs up to his partners in crime and before you know it, he popped the question!! Kelsey said yes and they somehow managed to get a personal photo shoot on top of the canyon by a kind passerby with a nice camera.
