Exploring the shops in Carytown is always fun! Jenny could spend hours at the thrift stores Ashby and Clementine. Be sure to check out the chocolate shop, For the Love of Chocolate.
One of our favorite things about Richmond is the zombie walk! Participants go all out with their costumes and walk through Carytown, starting at the Byrd Theater. Great people watching! We recommend sitting at the bar at Cary Street Deli or heading up Cary street to Garden Grove (a brewery and winery) for the entertainment.
The best in the area for sure! They sell out QUICK
Scott’s Addition is an area with many craft breweries and cideries. We loved starting at Ardent and brewery-hopping throughout the area. The Veil and Hardywood are also popular breweries
a personal favorite of Jenny's. A dive bar!
A well known cemetery with nice views of the James River! Past presidents, including James Monroe and John Tyler, are buried here in The President’s Circle.
A huge park with beautiful gardens, animals and a small Nature Center.
On a nice day we enjoyed a leisurely walk along the historic canal that goes along the James river. You may catch a festival or live music at Brown’s Island!
Any store you would ever need is located in Short Pump, roughly 20 mins from Richmond.
