Nice place for coffee and brunch or lunch. Seating is limited but can easily be taken to go to sit somewhere (like the nearby Cobble Hill Park!).
Local bakery for a quick snack and a coffee.
One of our favorite restaurants. If you are staying in town for an extended time, you should try to eat here for dinner.
This is a cozy little spot for brunch or lunch (dinner is also great!).
This is a good place for a drink and a burger. We loved going here. (Also where we had our first date!)
Nice Lebanese place for lunch (on the weekend) or dinner.
A solid French bistro place. But there are a few of these around. You can try Bar Tabac or French Louie as well. All have brunch.
Fun place for interesting ice cream flavors.
Great local book shop.
One of our favorite museums in New York. A great way to learn about New York history and to sit on some old subway cars!
A wonderful place for a stroll and a great view of Manhattan from Brooklyn Heights.
It's owned by Ace now, but good local hardware shop. Got anything you need really—just ask one of the guys in the vests. Good place to hang out if you want to kill time and try and make friends with locals.
A great waterfront park with food and a few restaurants along the way. Walk all the way to DUMBO if you're up for it.
This is a nice little park that's not too far of a walk from the hotels. And there are shops and restaurants along the way and all along the park's border. Walt Whitman loved spending time here.
