While Victoria was in her last year at St. Mary's, she was home visiting her parents for the weekend and scrolling through Tinder - as you do when you are a single millennial. She came across this handsome fella and swiped right (for all you old folks, that means she indicated her interest). To her delight, David had also liked her face and had swiped right too. Unfortunately, fate wasn't quite ready to bring these two lovers together and they each dated a few other frogs in the meantime. Fortunately for her, David was a patient guy, and finally in May 2016, David came to her house in Elkridge to pick her up for their first real date in his big blue pickup truck. Unfortunately for David, he got roped into accompanying Victoria and Kitty to a vet appointment before their date. Told you he was a patient guy. An hour later, they were off for a sushi date and a stop at the wine bar which ended in Victoria belting out Beyonce songs for the entire ride home. Did I mention he is patient?! Well, it turned out David was down for all the things from impromptu vet appointments to drunken karaoke and everything in between, and they have been together ever since.
Victoria and David went to Sarasota, FL for a five-year anniversary getaway in June 2021. Victoria and her family had spent many summers in Sarasota and she was excited to share this special place with her boo. For those who know Victoria, you will not be surprised to hear that for the past year (maybe two?), when the two of them were having a particularly romantic moment, say on a beach perhaps, she would tell David - "Just so you know...this would be an excellent place to ask me to marry you..." Well even though it rarely seems like he is, turns out David was listening after all! Cue the romantic picnic on the beach where Victoria and her family used to spend all their summers. Victoria was of course taking her time devouring their charcuterie board while David was getting nervous, hoping the sun wouldn't go down too soon while this girl was STILL eating... Luckily, she quit stuffing her face and they walked down to the water together to reminisce about five awesome years together. As they walked back to their picnic blanket, David stopped them and said "I don't want a girlfriend for our five year anniversary," and got down on one knee right there in the sand. Again, for those who know Victoria, you will not be surprised to hear that her response was "OH MY GOD, ARE YOU SURE?" with tears streaming down her face. To which David of course responded, "Um yeah, pretty darn sure..." And of course, she said yes with a big happy grin.
Victoria and David bought their home at 8712 Hawkins Creamery Rd. in June 2020 in the midst of the pandemic. They have spent the past year and a half together making this a special place to welcome family and friends and spend time together. They (Victoria, really) have several animal children including two goats, a cat, a dog, three birds, and two fish. Oh and a pretty great human child named Kaitlyn, too (shout out to the best co-parents). David and his buddy/business partner, Chris, run a successful automotive business called SB Automotive in Gaithersburg while Victoria works from home for The Hatcher Group, a public relations and communications firm. They have the absolute best friends and family; love to travel, eat, and binge-watch their favorite shows; and are excited to see what other adventures they can get up to together as husband and wife.
