Question

Is there parking available at the venue?

Answer

There are several parking options: 1) Street parking is free on the weekends. We do not recommend leaving your car here overnight after the event. 2) There is a lot across from the venue: 52 Sheldon Blvd Se. $12 daily max. We do not recommend leaving your car here overnight after the event. For more secure parking: 3) Weston Commerce Ramp: 30 Weston St SW. 0.2 miles from The Lit. Daily max $12. 4) Cherry Commerce Ramp: 141 Commerce Ave SW. 0.2 miles from The Lit. Daily max $12.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We recommend cocktail attire for our wedding to help set the tone for a festive evening. However, we want you to feel comfortable and enjoy the celebration, so please wear whatever makes you feel your best.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony begins at 5pm. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the ceremony to ensure you have plenty of time to get settled.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have reserved a block of rooms at two hotels for a discounted rate. Please see the Travel tab of this website.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Due to limited numbers, we hope you appreciate that children are only invited if named on the invitation.

Is it safe to walk from the venue to our hotel?

Answer

You may notice that The Lit is located in an area near several ministries and non-profits that provide resources to people experiencing homelessness. Max and I walk around downtown often and generally find the people of Grand Rapids to be very friendly. However, you may feel safer walking with another person after dark.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

If you have a food allergy or strict dietary need, our caterer can accommodate. Please let us know at least 4 weeks prior to the wedding.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation included “and guest,” you are welcome to bring a plus one. If you have any questions about your invitation, please feel free to contact us.
