We're Getting Married!

Our story began in the most unexpected way - not with a long message or a grand gesture, but with a simple “hands clapping” reaction on Instagram in July 2021. What started as something small turned into a real conversation… and before we knew it, something truly special had begun. Even though we lived 1,000 km apart - one in Cape Town and one in Bloemfontein - fate somehow placed us in the same city at the same time. That first coffee date was meant to be just 15 minutes, but it turned into 45 minutes - filled with laughter, comfort, and an instant connection that felt like home. Later in 2021, we travelled to Mauritius - our first big adventure together - before spending six unforgettable months in Malelane on a game farm. A chapter full of golden sunsets, laughter, and quiet, cherished moments deepened our love in every way. Life in the bush taught us patience, partnership, and the true meaning of growing together. In 2022, we made Cape Town our home, welcomed our two dogs, Romeo and Ruger, who quickly became our mischievous little sidekicks and constant sources of joy. That year also brought summer weekends of cricket - long, sunny days that tested patience, snack supplies, and attention spans. There were drop catches, questionable umpire calls, and a few near wickets of our own… but somehow, we wouldn’t trade a single over for the world. In 2023, we explored Amsterdam - wandering cobblestone streets, eating far too many stroopwafels, and falling even more in love with life (and each other). Then, in 2024, we spent weekends travelling from Cape Town to Christiana for farm trips, where we could be where our hearts were happiest, surrounded by nature, quiet moments, and each other - and, of course, a little friendly hunting competition that usually ended with one of us claiming we “saw it first.” Finally, on 29 June 2025, the day that changed everything, Pierre asked the biggest question of all. In the heart of the bushveld at Marble Hall, surrounded by family and love, we got engaged. Every detail was perfect, and in that moment, we knew we were ready for forever. From a simple "hands clapping" reaction on Instagram to a lifetime of shared laughter, adventures, cricket weekends, farm trips, and love - our story has been more beautiful than we ever imagined. Now, we can’t wait to start the next chapter surrounded by all of you.
