We met in our Sophomore year at the University of Kansas. We were randomly assigned to Table 8 in biology class. We started walking out of class together and got to know each other. One day we were both running late but there was a fire alarm that pushed the start of class back. We had more time than usual to chat and we hit it off even more. Not long after, Cailin asked Michael for his number (under the guise of studying) and he friended her on Snapchat. We went on several unofficial dates including study dates, going to concerts with Cailin's friends (2 cellos) and Cailin's family (Trans-Siberian Orchestra) where Michael got stuck in line for a urinal with Cailin's dad. That wasn't enough to scare him away. As the Fall Semester ended we saw Thor: Ragnarok when it came out and spent winter break FaceTiming, excited to see each other in the Spring. Michael asked Cailin on their first (official) date to Kobe Steakhouse in Lawrence and we made it official on January 15, 2018.

We finished our college careers the year Covid-19 first hit. We all know how that went... We went down to Oklahoma so Michael could get a Master's Degree at the University of Oklahoma while Cailin worked remotely at an internship. We moved back home to Lawrence, adopted two dogs, and took trips around the U.S. and Japan. Michael proposed on June 7th. With so much behind us, we're excited knowing most of the story still lies ahead.
