See art and eat pizza in DUMBO, Brooklyn
DUMBO was once an industrial neighborhood turned trendy arty hot spot with spectacular views of Manhattan and New York's bridges, including the Brooklyn Bridge. It's a combination of old warehouses and interesting shops and restaurants. You can find art galleries and a famous pizzeria called Grimaldi's, as well as Jacques Torres chocolate shop. Psssst Anne Kiefhaber Jacques has your name all over it!
Diner
One of the best brunch spots in Brooklyn (says Lex). It's often crowded so expect to go early and put your name down.
Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Check out this beautiful 52 acre garden in the heart of Brooklyn. Also, fun fact- Nanny Kerwick's train stop as a kid headed to school was right around the corner at Eastern Parkway :)
Domino Park
Brand new park right on the waterfront. Great views, very chill time.
The Ides Bar
Head up to the rooftop bar for one of the best views of Manhattan and Brooklyn
Brooklyn Bowl
Great music, rocking dance floor, amazing fried chicken, and, of course, bowling! Everything you need nothing you don't.
Egg
Also one of the best brunch spots, and the chef, Evan Hanczor is an absolute studmuffin.
The Levee
The dive bar of dive bars. Cheese puffs are free, drinks are dangerously close to free.
Westlight
Quite swanky, but great drinks and better views. Sometimes you'll find a line on weekends.
Ringolevio
One of our absolute favorites for a low key italian dinner. Small, so tell them you're coming ahead of time.
New York Transit Museum
This museum is in a decommissioned subway station in downtown Brooklyn has a collection of vintage subway cars dating back to 1907. If you decide to check it out, shoot Wayne Eaton a text. This train expert may like to join you.
