It all started with a swipe. Cailin and Greg met on Hinge, a dating app, in the fall of 2018. It was Greg's first date from an app; meanwhile, Cailin had lost count of her not-so-great app dates, but was staying strong. They met up at Lolita in the Seaport of Boston and immediately felt at ease, talking for hours and eventually walking around in the November chill to track down some ice cream. When they describe how they felt after that first date, they both agree that they had a sneaking suspicion it could be something special. Their suspicion was proven correct very quickly, as they continued to see each other regularly and began to introduce each other to their families and friends. Everything just fit. Their only obstacle was navigating the Boston traffic between the North End and Dorchester, but they made it work. In the spring of 2019, they had a "moment" in Pope John Paul Park near Greg's Dorchester apartment. They'd been dating for a few months at that point, and as they were standing under a gazebo in the park, they both had a sudden feeling of knowing wash over them. When they each got home that night, they told each other that they had the realization that they had found "the one." That's why Greg brought Cailin back to Pope John Paul Park to propose in September 2023. Like always, they were on the same wavelength, as Cailin had told a few of her friends that's where she hoped he would pop the question! By the time they get married in 2025, they will have been together for almost seven years, and somehow, they still continue to uncover new adventures, make each other laugh until their stomachs hurt, and talk for hours on end about everything and nothing. Every second will have been worth the wait.
