There is a ferry that goes back and forth from Bridgeport, CT to Port Jefferson, NY. We recommend booking in advance if you are looking to take this as your mode of travel to and from Long Island! Link to the website is above, or you can call 1-888-44-FERRY.
The brewery offers awesome beers in its tasting room that is open everyday at 12:00 PM. Tours are available on Saturdays at 4:00 PM. They do not serve food, but you are welcome to enjoy take-out food from any of the surrounding area restaurants at the tasting room.
Reservations recommended!
Stony Brook Village is a colonial-style village center that blends shopping, restaurants, history, music, art and nature. Surrounded by history and National and State landmarks, Stony Brook Village Center houses the Stony Brook Grist Mill (c.1751), the Hercules Pavilion, Avalon Park and Preserve (a 140-acre park with multiple trails for the public year-round), the Three Village Inn, the Jazz Loft, and the Long Island Museum.
Also known as "Pirate's Cove," this beautiful park is a must! Despite the sparse 6 parking spots in the lot, and the hike up the dunes (that is totally worth it!), McAllister Park is one of the North Shore's hidden gems that we definitely recommend!
Walk around or sit and enjoy the scenery of this waterfront park that is along the harbor of Port Jefferson, located right outside the village center.
Delicious place for breakfast, brunch, or even if you just need a coffee!
It may not be right in town, but Soul Brew is a favorite that has great food for breakfast, brunch, or lunch!
The Italian staple of this North Shore harbor town.
Old Field....Old Town Road....& barbecue? Need we say more? Nope.
Great American fare right in town with awesome harbor views!
The local watering hole.
