A personal favorite coffee shop of ours :)
Cute restaurant on the beach
Restaurant on the beach with the best Mai Tais!
Our favorite beach!
Best luau on the big island!
This is for the people who want an adventure! Getting down to the beach is tricky, but it’s beautiful! There is no paved road to get down to the beach, you have to drive over lava rock (most car rental places specifically say not to drive to this beach because of the road). You can park your car at Kekaha Kai State Beach and walk over to Makalwena. Pack light if you want to make this trip!
Ziplining in Hilo with great views
Everything is freshly caught for the day, so first come first serve! Once they run out, they close for the day, so we recommend going early!
Cute shopping area along the shore with restaurants and bars
A staple brewery!
Good spot for snorkeling!
This is a very calm beach, good for kids. However, this beach tends to get pretty hot.
This tour group does multiple types of snorkeling tours, but we highly recommend the manta ray snorkeling at night! (If you tend to get seasick/motion sickness, I recommend taking motion sickness medicine beforehand)
The best malasadas!
This beach only allows 15 parking passes at a time. But if you are staying at the Mauna Kea resort you can walk in. This beach is very calm, good beach for kids.
