Chicago Botanic Garden
A short drive from the Renaissance Hotel, the Botanic Gardens offers some of the most scenic (and romantic) walks in the Chicago area. Guided tours and activities are available, but sometimes it's more fun to just explore and get lost for a few hours.

The best spot for Chicago-style thin-crust pizza just happens to be across the street from the Renaissance Hotel. There is a time and a place for good deep dish, but this is what the locals eat.
Wrigley Field
If you're in town Thursday, the Cubs are hosting the Rockies at 6:40. The wind off the lake can be chilly, especially for night games in the fall, so make sure to bring an extra layer. There's also a game against the Rockies on Friday at 1:20, but make sure to allow plenty of time for traffic and travel if you're headed to Glencoe for Friday evening.
