We’re getting married!

It was Thanksgiving day and we were hosting our families as we do every year, but this day would be filled with a lot more excitement. Marissa spent 7 months planning our first family trip to Disney World and it was the day we’d finally share the news with our kids. As we were nearing the end of the scavenger hunt for the big reveal, the true surprise was about to unfold. After the kids opened everything from their Minnie Mouse suitcase, there was a letter explaining more was coming. With a puzzled look on Marissa’s face, we headed upstairs and our oldest daughter read instructions to close her eyes. Entirely clueless of what was happening, Marissa reluctantly closed her eyes and next read aloud was “will you marry Dad?!” She opened her eyes to Mark on bended knee with the most beautiful ring. Marissa was in complete shock and overwhelmed with happiness. She cried so hard she didn’t even get the word “yes” out. Mark was planning to propose while we were at Cinderellas castle a few weeks later but he simply could not wait. After over 5 years together, 2 children, 2 dogs, a home, and a beautiful life built together, we finally get to have our “happily ever after” moment.
