We met while working together with the St. Luke’s hospital ICU night shift crew. To help us stay awake during the night shift, and to maintain our sanity, we always joked around and became a close group of best friends. It wasn’t until one specific night though, when Alex asked me to help him with his patients bath, that our fun loving relationship grew. He winked at me, expecting to smolder, while I simply gazed back asking, “Did you just wink at me?”... Little did he know (by the multiple shades of red on my face) that it worked... 2 dogs and 5 years later, here we are! I’m still calling him out whenever I can, and he is still dazzling me with that same smile and wit. Warning: A little nursing humor, but we like to think of our love story as “Love At First Wipe”. We share so many life passions and have helped support each other through Webster University’s Nurse Anesthesia program. Although it required patience, long distance, literal blood, and tears, we both have succesfully obtained our Master’s Degrees and are crazy enough to be going back for our doctorates. Our lives have revolved around school for so long, we are so excited to finally be sharing our special day with you!
Alex pulled out all the stops to surprise and sweep Amanda off her feet for their proposal. Under the disguise of spending a girls night at the St. Louis Muny, Amanda, her sister Melanie, and their mother Lori went dress shopping, got manicures, and planned a special, dressy night. While driving past the Art Museum in Forest Park, Amanda spotted Alex atop Art Hill, dapperly dressed with their dog Minka at his side. He led Amanda into a secluded, green area of Art Hill where he asked her to marry him. She said YES! Only after did she notice the photographer hiding in the bushes and their families coming out to surprise them. They spent the rest of the evening celebrating with family and friends and a live band at a beautiful rooftop venue.
