Flight
Whether you're coming in for the week, or extending your stay and jet setting around Europe, there are three airports in close vicinity to our wedding destination. Florence (FLR), Pisa (PSA) and Rome (FCO). Florence airport being the closest to Siena. Please note you may find more flight routes and cheaper options in and out of Rome (FCO). You can also fly into Milan (MXP) airport and take the train from Milan to Siena. The train will have 1-2 stops depending on what train station you depart from in Milan and stopovers will be in Milan and/or Florence. Please let us know if you have questions about flights and travel.
Rental Car
We highly recommend renting a car, as it's the easiest and best way to get around this region. It is easy to navigate around using Google Maps. Car Rental Options - Hertz - Sixt - National Rental Car it is about a 25-30 minute drive from Siena by taxi or car and a 1 hour drive from Florence.
Train
Italia Rail Omio Travel (additional site for booking) You may book your train in advance or purchase a ticket when you arrive We suggest going from Rome (FCO) to Siena. Take the train from Rome–Fiumicino International Airport to Roma Termini or Roma Trastevere stations and change trains to Siena. Alternatively, you can catch the fast train from Roma Termini station XRJ to Florence SMN (Frecciarossa) and then from Florence there are local trains and coach services directly (1 hour) to Siena . There are taxis 24/7 parked at Siena Station (it is 35€ to get Dievole)
Travel Note
Be sure to check your passport expiration date! Your expiration date will need to extend at least 6 months past your return date in September of 2023!
