It was a night of nervous conversation at Flattop Grill, a journey through books at Barnes & Noble, and a peaceful walk through Northwestern's campus. Two weeks later, on November 9th, Caelie and Kevin went to Aurelio's Pizza in Homewood and before the night was over, it was official: Kevin and Caelie were now boyfriend and girlfriend. So this is what happens when two hopeless romantics fall in love. They sparked a love that truly is "Fireproof."

From celebrating their first New Years together to vacations and new restaurants, it had only been 6 months, but they could tell that this was the start of "Something Beautiful."

They went back to Aurelio's in Homewood to celebrate and have gone back every November 9th since. What started as a single little crush had sent these two lovebugs on an unexpected journey through life, love, and everything in between. From Caelie's 21st birthday to apple picking to celebrating holidays, they were living life to the fullest. If you ask them now what they did all those years during their relationship, their answer would be simple. They'd say, "We lived."

Determined never to bring in the new year apart from each other, Kevin even surprised Caelie 15 minutes before midnight after working a 3:00pm-11:00pm shift. They were enjoying each other and wanted to let that love shine for the world to see. They had found their soulmate and it made them happy.

God brought them together and nothing could separate them. They knew they had something special and now they are ready to become Mr. and Mrs. Vander Velde.
