Digital beginnings, lifelong love.

Who knew forever was one message away

Cadricia’s Point of View: After a few failed relationships and situationships, I knew something had to change. I remember sitting in the bathroom, praying, “God, I’m ready for my person, but I’m not sure I have it in me to keep trying.” I made a promise to myself: I’d give love one more chance—just one. So, I downloaded Facebook Dating. I figured my man wasn’t going to magically show up in my apartment. I started swiping and messaging, but most of the profiles looked like my usual “type.” That’s when I reminded myself: doing the same thing over and over gets you the same results. Until I came across Marcus’ profile. One of his pictures had a bird on his shoulder, and I thought, “There’s definitely something different about this man… but I’ll give it a try—you never know!” His first message to me was: “Do you have any mini Cadricia’s running around?” I laughed—and we were off to a great start. We talked on the phone a few times and decided to meet up for a date in Charlotte, NC. I was nervous and even told my coworkers, “I’m going on a date with someone I met on Facebook!” We met at The Puttery in South End. Despite my nerves, the moment we introduced ourselves, he felt like home. It was a feeling I had never experienced—and it excited me. We played golf (one of his favorite things to do), then grabbed Thai food and ice cream at Jenni’s. We spent hours talking and really getting to know each other. After that night, I knew—he was going to be my husband. The next day at work, I told everyone, “Yes, I’ve found my husband.” And the rest is history. We’ve been inseparable ever since March 6th, 2022—sharing endless dates, deep conversations, so much laughter, and most importantly, unconditional love. Marcus's Point Of View: I met Cadricia on a dating app one day, thinking I was just meeting a new friend. But the more we talked, the more I realized how much we truly had in common. Some might say that in the beginning it always feels that way, but this was different. My mom used to tell me that when you meet the right one, you’ll simply know—and with Cadricia, I knew. From our very first date in Charlotte, she has been my best friend. I can’t even count the weekends Apollo and I spent driving just to see her, and every trip was worth it. She has brought me more joy than I could have imagined and has shown me what it means to love someone with your whole heart. Cadricia, I promise to love you to the moon and beyond. I will do everything in my power to give you the world. I’m so grateful that we chose to walk this journey together and to build the family we’ve always dreamed of.
