This event marks the beginning of the wedding festivities. Although the wedding has been planned for a specific date, this ceremony is what solidifies it in the eyes of the divine. The wedding date is officially set and blessed by a priest, and the exact time for the ceremony is also set. Let's begin the celebrations!

This event is very informal, held at home. Any modest attire that will allow the mehendi artist to apply henna on your arms and/or feet is fair game!
Please be prepared to have wet henna on your hand(s) for a while until it dries and stains properly!
9:00 am - 12:00 pm
South Indian attire strongly encouraged. Button down shirts and veshtis/dhothis for the gentlemen, and sarees for the ladies. Etsy.com has some great options, and some listings have tailoring options! Please feel free to contact the bride and groom for help with your outfit purchases!
Breakfast and lunch will be served as part of the ceremony. Both meals will be vegetarian as per Indian customs. Please reach out if you have any allergies or dietary restrictions!
