We can't wait to celebrate with you!

The story starts in 2018. Caden and Emily both graduated high school and as fate would have it, they both ended up at Saginaw Valley State University. They both opted for the full college experience by living on campus and while Caden moved in with his childhood friend, Emily knew nobody. As freshmen on campus, it was pretty standard to live in either one of two buildings: MJB, which was located in the heart of campus, or living center south. Both Emily and Caden were placed in MJB, and coincidentally, they both lived on the third floor. Crazy right?! Well, that's where the story stops. At least for now! Emily met lots of new people, and so did Caden. Oddly, they never crossed paths even though later on, they learned they lived just doors down from each other. Freshman year came and went, and they were no longer near each other. In 2020, well... we all know what happened then. So the story took a pause. But as we all know, God has a plan. And he certainly had one for these two. After 3 years, Emily was almost done with her nursing program and decided that now was the time to try the dreaded DATING APPS. Caden hopped on the bandwagon, too. After swiping and swiping and swiping, Emily was getting pretty sick of it. But then she came across a boy with a cute smile and decided to swipe right. Looking back, Caden says it was Emily's smile that sealed the deal for him, too ;) Shout out to their parents for the braces. You guys rock! When Emily and Caden matched, they started messaging each other. The conversation was effortless and fun, and after a couple of weeks, they finally met in person. They stayed up for hours and hours talking, which is when they found out that years ago, they were just doors down from each other. Looking back, this is the biggest God moment for them, because it just shows that His plan will prevail. They talked for two months before Caden told Emily that, yes, they were dating (Emily didn't know and it's quite a funny story--ask about it!). They have been together since December 7th, 2021, and have loved every second of it. On June 12th, 2023, Caden proposed to Emily on their first big trip together, and she, of course, said YES! So the moral of the story goes: life is crazy, God is good, and Tinder ain't that bad.
