We like to say we “reconnected” in the summer of 2021 at a Fourth of July party at Lake Isabella. Reconnected feels like the right word because our story actually started much earlier. We were in the same fifth and sixth grade split class in middle school and spent plenty of time around each other before Brooke eventually moved across the state. Life went on, and we did not see each other again until that summer day by the lake. Since that party, we have talked every day since. The first two years of our relationship were spent long distance while we were each finishing college, traveling back and forth between Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor on the weekends and counting down the days until the next visit. Even with the miles, we never went more than a week without seeing each other, and it did not take long for us to realize we did not want to spend much more time apart. In July of 2024, we moved in together in Ann Arbor. Not long after, we made our way to Grand Rapids, a city that quickly became one of our favorites. From there, we packed up once again and headed to Santa Barbara, California, where we live now and continue to build our life together. We love being on the move, exploring new places, meeting new people, and creating memories wherever we land. Most days you can find us running, hiking, at the gym, or searching for a great coffee shop. Through all the moves, road trips, and time spent together, one thing has stayed the same: we genuinely love being around one another, and cannot wait to see where life takes us.
