The wedding ceremony and reception are going to be held at the Cape, a Thompson Hotel, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The address for the Cape is Carretera Transpeninsular Km 5, 23455 Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Yes! We have a room block at the Cape hotel. Please visit our "Travel" page for more details.
Although we love your children, we regretfully cannot accommodate everyone's children at our wedding, less immediate family! We hope you see this as an opportunity to take the night off and enjoy the party with us!
Our wedding events will be outdoors so don't forget sunglasses and sunscreen! The weather in Cabo in April is typically sunny with temperatures in the mid 80s during the day and mid 60s in the evening. A sweater or other light layer is recommended for the evening events.
The requested attire for the weekend's events is noted below: Friday night's events - Evening Fiesta Attire (think pants and guayaberas/button down shirts for men; and nice sundresses or other attire for a night on the town in Mexico for women). Saturday night's events - Cocktail Attire (think cocktail dresses or formal jumpsuits for women; and suits or jackets and slacks for men). The temperatures drop somewhat at night in Cabo so we suggest women bring a sweater or other warm layer that evening. Sunday's events - Casual Attire (anything works, including travel clothes).
For the wedding, we are doing a plated dinner and have requested that guests select their menu choice with their RSVP. The highlights of the menu selections are noted below: -Steak dish - steak with vegetables and a potato side -Fish dish - white fish with vegetables and a quinoa side (note the side contains shellfish) -Vegetarian dish - chef's choice but the chef confirmed it will be as amazing as the other dishes
For those who are not staying at the Cape, please arrange your own transportation to the Cape for the wedding. Cabs, Uber/Lyft, and private shuttle services are readily available throughout the Los Cabos area.
Yes, please visit our "Schedule" page for more information! Stay tuned for details about the other events.
The resort is about 15 minutes away from the downtown Cabo area, which is easily reached by cab or Uber/Lyft.
No, a rental car is not needed unless you would like to have one. Cabs and Uber/Lyft are readily available to get around in the Cabo area. If you don't rent a car, we recommend pre-arranging transportation to and from the airport. Please visit our "Travel" page for more details on shuttles. If you would like to rent a car, be sure and bring some cash (US dollars or Mexican pesos) for the toll road leaving the airport (it's around $5 US each way). Also, valet parking at the Cape is free for guests.
We arrive at the Cape on Wednesday (April 2nd) and leave the following Monday (April 7th).
Yes, a passport is required for travel to Mexico! Please note that if your passport is set to expire within 6 months of the wedding weekend, you will need to get your passport renewed before you leave! For guidance on passport application and passport renewals, please visit: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports.html/
The peso is Mexico's national currency, though many places in the Cabo area accept US dollars for convenience. Major credit cards are also accepted in most establishments. Banks offer currency exchange during business hours. ATMs are also widely available for cash withdrawals at the current exchange rate, and most ATMs have menus in English.
As a rule of thumb, you should stick to bottled or purified water in Mexico. The Cape, other resorts and hotels and most local restaurants only serve purified water so you should be good to drink the water there (but confirm with the venue to be safe) and yes, the ice is made with purified water at those locations so it is safe.
