Cabby and Eric met on the dating app, Bumble in April of 2018 while Eric was traveling in his van with his new puppy, Bodhi, to climb in Red River Gorge in Kentucky. Cabby was in school at the time at Transylvania University and ever since their first date they’ve been nearly inseparable. After a walk with Bodhi at the Lexington Arboretum Eric canceled his plans to climb that week in order to spend more time together. Cabby felt like her happiest self with Eric (and Bodhi) and couldn’t believe how lucky she was to have met this California climbing guy living in a van. It was only a couple of weeks until Eric came to Louisville to meet Cabby’s family and reassure them that he was indeed a very kind, caring, and upstanding person. (As you can imagine Cabby's parents were curious about this guy from the dating app living in his van). After the summer of 2018 there was no doubt that they wanted to stick together for the long run, and Eric and Bodhi moved to Kentucky while Cabby finished her degree.

Eric proposed to Cabby on April 10th 2021 at Huntertown horse farm in Versailles KY. The farm is where Cabby and Eric had spent their first three years together, and it is the place where they fell in love and built the foundations of their relationship. It was a classic rainy spring day in Kentucky when Eric proposed under the cover of the horse stable and Cabby said YES! Eric and Cabby’s families both waited nearby to greet them and enjoyed a beautiful dinner together in the barn which Eric had arranged. The rain cleared up and the day could not have been more beautiful.
