Back in 2016, Sammy was Irish Dancing through college at an Irish pub on the strip called Nine Fine Irishmen at New York New York. She was working on a very slow Tuesday night when she looked down to find a handsome man watching her on stage. Ryan was visiting Vegas with some friends for a lads holiday and of course Irish people go to Irish bars wherever they travel. Once she was off stage, he came over and said "I used to Irish Dance too!" They chatted and exchanged numbers and spent the entire week together. Sammy even introduced him to the Bulgatz Family! Their time together came to an end when he had to go home but they kept in touch over Facebook for a year or so. After a year, Sammy visited him in Ireland but they still weren't ready for a long distance relationship yet. Another few months went by and he invited Sammy on a trip to Asia with him. Sam booked her flights in 5 minutes and the rest was history! They spent 2 weeks together traveling and truly fell in love. 5 months later, Sammy was packing her bags and moving to Ireland so they could be together. They have travelled to over 20 countries together and moved to Canada & next Amsterdam! What happens in Vegas, lands you a fiancé!
Sammy & Ryan booked a last minute trip to drive from Banff to Jasper over Sammy's birthday weekend. They drove through the beautiful mountains and lakes of the Icefields Parkway between Jasper and Banff. On the last day they drove to Lake Louise to see the incredible turquoise waters. Because of Covid, there was no international tourism so they had the place to themselves. Sammy asked Ryan to take a picture of her looking out onto the lake. He then came up behind her and said "The still waters of the lake reflect the beauty around it and nothing is more beautiful to me than you, Sammy" He then got down on one knee and popped the question and through tears and jumping up and down, she said "YES!" She turned and noticed a photographer capturing the whole moment! Ryan surprised Sammy with a canoe ride across the lake and a night at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. The magical evening continued with celebratory cocktails and dinner where they celebrated with lots of phone calls and facetimes to friends and family. The next morning, Sammy woke up on her 27th birthday an engaged woman! Safe to say it was the best weekend of their lives thus far.
