We’re getting married!

Byrdie Elise Lopez and Cody Max Zaragoza first met in the halls of Tanque Verde High School, their lives briefly overlapping in Spanish class. Byrdie, quiet and studious, kept to the back of the room, absorbed in her notes, while Cody, effortlessly charismatic, brought energy and laughter to those around him. Though they shared the same space, their lives moved in different directions, never quite intersecting—unaware that fate had plans to bring them together when the time was right. After graduating high school in 2022, they reconnected, this time with a chance to truly get to know one another. Their first outing was a late-night drive around Tucson, where conversation flowed effortlessly, and they quickly realized they had found something special. From that night on, they were inseparable. One of their favorite traditions became driving up to Sabino Mountain to watch the city lights, dreaming about the future they would build together. Byrdie admired Cody’s ambition and skill in his craft, watching as he worked tirelessly to build something of his own. Cody was drawn to Byrdie’s humor and dedication to her studies, knowing she was working toward something that would allow her to help others. Their unwavering support for each other became the foundation of their relationship, pushing them both to grow in their careers and in life. On June 26, 2024, Cody planned the ultimate surprise proposal at the scenic 49ers Country Club, where he got down on one knee and asked Byrdie to be his wife. The moment was flawlessly executed and captured on video—an unforgettable milestone in their journey together. Now, as they plan their wedding, Byrdie and Cody look forward to the future—building their lives side by side, supporting each other’s dreams, and celebrating with the people who have been there for them every step of the way.
