FAQs

The Wedding Website of Amy Byers and Daniel Lear
Palm Springs feels like home to us after spending time here with Amy’s parents. We bet you’ll quickly feel at home here too. Until then, here are a few FAQs about the area.
Question

How to get there?

Answer

You can fly non-stop into Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) from Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver, Phoenix and San Francisco. Or fly into LAX, San Diego or Orange County and drive 2 hours to Palm Springs.

Question

Where to stay?

Answer

We definitely suggest staying at the JW Marriott Desert Springs. The resort has restaurants, bars, pools, golf, fitness center, spa and more, plus all wedding events and impromptu fun! If you prefer to stay off property: -Marriott Villas (walking distance). -Courtyard by Marriott (1.5 miles away). -Vacation Rentals: VRBO, Oranj Palm, Vacasa Palm Springs for area condo/home rentals.

Question

How to book JW Marriott Desert Springs?

Answer

To book rooms at discounted rates: https://book.passkey.com/event/50162328/owner/10857/home Or call 760-341-2211, and mention Byers/Lear wedding block.

Question

Is a car needed?

Answer

If you’re staying at hotel for the weekend only, you can Uber. If you’re staying off-property or extending your stay, you’ll probably want a car for dining, shopping, hikes, golf, etc.

Question

What's the weather?

Answer

Palm Springs is warm, sunny and dry. In April, daytime temps can reach 90 degrees, so remember to hydrate. Evenings are cooler. Be sure to bring a light jacket!

Question

What to bring?

Answer

Pack summer clothes, sunglasses, pool/fitness wear and walking shoes. Add a sweater or light jacket for cool desert evenings. Also bring golf clubs and racquets (or rent on property). Besides golf, there is a lot to do in the desert: hiking, exploring, art and air museums, shopping, mid-century architecture tours or gazing at the mountains from your pool chair.
