Like many modern love stories, Matthew and Megan’s started out with the “right” swipe. Megan had recently moved from Maryland to Florida to run a car-key franchise, while Matty, originally from New York, had been living in Florida for seven years and begun building up his own pressure washing business. After effortless conversations over text, Matty asked Megan to make him spare keys for his truck in exchange for dinner. Their first date, she made the keys, then the two walked around Armature Works, talking nonstop along the waterfront. They went out looking for burgers, but somehow ended up ordering lobster at a steakhouse instead. Hours passed without them even noticing, and before they knew it, they were some of the last ones there as everything started to close. From the very beginning, it just felt easy—and it wasn’t long before they became two halves of a whole.
Matty had been carrying the ring with him for weeks, waiting for the right moment to propose. One beautiful, sunny day, Matt and Megan went to Indian Rocks Beach. While enjoying their usual beach lunch (Pub Subs), a seagull swooped in and stole Megan’s entire sandwich! Still, after sharing their key lime pie, they spent a relaxed afternoon by the water. As the sun began to set, Matty realized life together was already perfect—there was no need to wait. He handed his phone to a stranger, led Megan to the water, and asked her to marry him. He could barely finish the question before she shouted, “YES!”
