Things To Do
Downtown
Whether it's exploring the local parks, eateries, or the walkway along the James River, there is so much to see. Close to downtown is a younger- fun street with great food and spots called Carytown. Definitely recommend this! There is plenty to see in the greater downtown area at Maymont Gardens, the art museums or science museum (free!)
Short Pump
There is a ton of things to do in this area from driving ranges, arcades, shopping, great restaurants. It's about 20 min from the James River in Richmond
Shenandoah National Park
This is about an hour from Louisa and 30 minutes from Charlottesville if you want to make the most of your trip!
King Family Vineyards
On Sundays, there are polo matches held with local food trucks and wine from Kingman vineyard. It's free to attend and a lot of fun! Pet friendly too! There is over 40 wineries in the Charlottesville area and 4 in Louisa area.
Lake Monticello
For the history buffs- Monticello and its many historical rooms, gadgets, furniture, buildings, and artifacts tell us a lot about Thomas Jefferson, the president who built it and lived there.
Carter Mountain Orchard and Country Store
Lots of trails, apple picking, cider and farm items to enjoy! There is one location which is busier in Charlottesville and Chilies peach orchard in Crozet. There are lots of orchards in the area, this is just some of the most popular!
Downtown Mall
Refer to website for local events, restaurants and happenings! There is always something going on here. This is where wedding shuttle will pick up and drop off folks.
