It all began at a birthday party — my brother’s 15th, to be exact. Mikey’s aunt happened to be friends with my parents, and when she brought him along, neither of us knew that day would change our lives forever. With a little help from my mom and his aunt, we were “accidentally” introduced, but from that moment on, something just clicked. At the time, Mikey was finishing his senior year of high school, and after he graduated, we decided to take a leap and move in together. What started as young love quickly grew into a partnership built on laughter, late-night talks, and countless memories. We eventually began working together at Costco and found that we truly loved spending everyday side by side — whether at work, at the gym, or just hanging out with our dogs, Ace and Sosa, and our tortoise, Tank. Over the years, we’ve traveled together, chasing sunsets and collecting moments that feel like home no matter where we are. But our favorite trip so far will always be Hawaii — the place where Mikey asked me to be his forever. I had joked the whole trip that he was going to propose, never thinking it would actually happen. One night, after dinner at an overpriced (but delicious) Italian restaurant, we walked along the beach. Under the soft sound of the waves, Mikey got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Now, we’re counting down the days until we say “I do,” surrounded by the people we love most. Through every adventure, every laugh, and every quiet moment, we’ve always been best friends — and we can’t wait to spend forever together.
