We met in one of our Marketing classes my senior year at Concordia. We knew of each other from sports, but never really talked. When I say “love at first sight,” I defintiely mean love at first sight when I first saw him. There was an instant connection. It literally felt like no one else existed when I first laid eyes on him. Thankfully, he felt the same. While he was more on the shy side, it didn’t stop him from being the most gentleman like man I had ever met. Every little thing he did, caught my eye and I was in “awe.” If you didn’t know, Jordan is basically good at everything he does (it’s kind of annoying, especially for this super competitive girl,) but I love it. One night we were playing a board game in his room and he put on some music. He always paid attention to the little things, so he put on some old country music (because he knows that’s all I listen to pretty much,) and a song came on that I thought only I would know- much to my surprise, he started singing it to me. In that super tiny moment, I knew that I was in love with this man. While how we met may seem like an ordinary way to meet your person, our friendship & love has always felt far from ordinary. Over the past four years we have shared a love that I thought was only existed in movies or fairytales- yes, I know, very cliche. But in all honesty, it just continues to get better. We literally are each others best friend. I still can’t believe I am lucky enough that I get to be his wife, but I am eternally grateful that I get to call this man my husband. We can’t wait share our special day with all of you.
I wanted professional couple photos for us just to have since we never had any together. I asked Jordan to do them before we flew home to my family for Christmas, but he made up some excuse that we couldn't. I never realized why, but it was because he wanted to ask my dad for his blessing in person (I told you, gentleman.) We got back to San Diego and went to take our pictures that week. Much to my surprise, Jordan asked if I wanted any photos by myself (I should have known then,) he got the ring from his mom and when I went for a pose where my back was to him, I heard Emily - our photographer - start taking pictures but I didn't feel Jordan behind me. I looked back and Jordan was on one knee.
