Arielle and Matthew met at the grand local hangout spot known as the Sonic parking lot in Eupora in 2018. They then became close friends and started dating in early 2019.

Matthew asked Arielle for her hand in marriage on December 22, 2022, at New Zion Baptist Church during the church band’s Christmas music practice. He played "When God Made You" by Newsong over the church speakers as he got down on one knee. Arielle was rehearsing "Mary Did You Know" when she noticed the song change and turned around to find him popping the question.
