It was May 2015. We were introduced to each other at the centurion event at Rillito downs.
The first trip we ever took together was in 2015 to Sedona and Grand Canyon. Burt had lived in Tucson for almost 15 years and still had never experienced the wonder of the canyon. I surprised Burt with a stay at El Tovar (hotel built 500 feet from the canyon edge). Burt fell in love with Grand Canyon and vowed that we would be back. Two and a half years later we planed a fun weekend trip to Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend and Grand Canyon. The first night we stayed at El Tovar. Burt took me on a hike 30 min before sunset along the rim trail so that we could watch the sunset along the canyon rim. He found a perfect bench for us to sit while the sun began to set. He turned to me and said... " I didn't drag you all the way up here for no reason." He then asked me if I would spend the rest of my life with him. He proposed March 4th 2018.
ON Sept 22nd along with a small group of family and friends, Burt and I exchanged vows in a small canyon side ceremony at Lipan Point. Join us in November to celebrate our nuptials.
