A great place to see the beautiful fall colors! Located three miles from downtown Knoxville, Ijams Nature Center is an environmental education center visited annually by hundreds of thousands of people from around the world. With 318 acres of forests, meadows, wetlands, and creeks, Ijams is perfect for students, families, and nature lovers of all ages. The grounds are open daily 8 am-dusk. There is a $5 daily parking fee; members park for free.

A quick drive out of town with beautiful views, visiting Norris Dam State Park is a fun family activity! The park is known for its hiking trails that provide spectacular views of Norris Lake and the surrounding hills and valleys. it is also home to a Dolly Parton Imagination Library Storybook Trail. The dam dates to 1933 and was the first project of the Tennessee Valley Authority.
