Long story short, we met through church! We know that is very cliché but Adam's dad became the children's pastor at the church where Abby's dad is the senior pastor. Abby was actually interested in Adam first, but was too shy to talk to him. But one year Adam was on staff at camp and Abby was a camper. That week of teen camp, on Wednesday, we sat on the hill by the snack shop up at Lost Valley and talked, and talked, and talked. We can't remember how long we talked, but we talked about anything and everything. Before we had to go we exchanged numbers and the rest is history.
On their first date we went to Mongolian BBQ and we went putt putt golfing. Fun fact! Abby didn't consider this their first date, even though it totally was our first date!
About a month after our first date Adam asked Abby to be his girlfriend. It was a Wednesday night after youth group. He had a little box with a ribbon tied around it. Inside the box was a red piece of paper in the shape of a heart. On the paper were the words written "Be mine?" Of course Abby said yes and that night neither of us could stop smiling we were so happy. Fun fact! To the day, Abby still has the little box with the piece of paper in it!
After being together for almost four years Adam proposed to Abby! On this night we created our first date. So we went back to the Same Mongolian BBQ restaurant and we went putt putt golfing. On the second to last hole, Adam slipped a little message in a bottle in the hole. Abby opened it up and while she was reading it Adam got down on his knee and asked Abby to become his wife. That little putt putt golf area and Mongolian BBQ will forever be our favorite place to go!
