Due to the recent PA restrictions on the number of guests able to gather inside, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding. We still plan to get married that day surrounded by our families and look forward to celebrating with you all one day! If you have made a reservation at the hotel, you will need to call and cancel. Please reach out to Steve or Kathleen with any additional questions, we're happy to help.
Steve was working for AECOM, and I was working for URS. Our companies merged, the two offices combined, which led to many happy hours, and eventually hikes on our Fridays off with Finn, my parent's dog. There was a clear connection, but I wasn't entirely sure if he wanted to hang out with me or with Finn. Luckily, Steve told me how he felt, I felt the exact same, and the rest is history.
We had just come back from Christmas Eve mass, and were getting ready to head over to my parent's house for dinner. Steve said, "Scheerer Family tradition is that everyone gets to open one present on Christmas Eve." (which is an actual tradition, not made up for the proposal). I said, "Ok! Does Bear (the dog) get to open a present too?!" very unaware of what was about to happen. Steve had picked out the smallest present for me to open, and just as I finished unwrapping it, he took it back and got down on one knee. I obviously said "Yes!". Neither Steve nor Bear got to open their Christmas Eve gift.
