Question

Will the bride and groom be changing names?

Answer

We can't wait to begin our lives together as The Burgin-Madvigs! We will both be changing our last names and kindly ask that you address any cards to The Burgin-Madvigs so that we can be giddy when we see it written down (or to Laura & Sam always works too!).

Question

What time should I arrive to the venue?

Answer

Please plan to arrive no later than 5:15 PM to find your seat. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30 PM!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Black tie attire. Full length gown and tuxedo or dark suit and tie requested. Café Brauer is an elegant, historic venue and we'd like to show up in style! Colorful gowns encouraged! Kindly leave the white to the bride. Here is a Pinterest board with inspiration: https://pin.it/2Ws9pSN47

Question

Will March in Chicago be warm?

Answer

Your guess is as good as ours! But rest assured that the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception will be indoor or in covered, heated spaces. We will also have a coat check if the weather is not in our favor.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

While we love your kids dearly, we politely ask that they sit this one out. The venue is not very child friendly and we hope that this can be a chance for the parents to let loose! And let's be honest, we don't want to be upstaged by your adorable children.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited capacity, we can only accommodate plus ones formally listed on the invitations. Please refer to your invitation for whether a plus one is included. *Please note that plus ones were not included on the Save the Dates.

Question

Can I drive to the venue?

Answer

We will be providing valet parking for those choosing to drive. However, we strongly encourage guests to take advantage of the multitudes of public transit options or Uber. There will be an open bar and we hope you'll take advantage, but safety is our first priority.
