Emily is Mary's older sister. They have always been close growing up, but as they've navigated early adulthood they've developed an even stronger friendship. Mary was so excited to share the news of her engagement with Emily, but she had already known for months that Ryan was buying a ring! Mary feels lucky to have a sister that she shares so much in common with. Ryan and Emily have grown to be great friends over the past 3 years. Emily has learned to have a special appreciation for what she calls "Ryan Jokes." The two have shared a lot of laughs over the years and Ryan feels happy to be gaining her as a sister-in-law.

Drew Elder

Best Man

Drew and Ryan have been best friends since elementary school. Growing up together - with Ryan practically living at Drew’s house - they spent many nights staying up too late, playing too much Halo, and making some of the most ridiculous home movies you could imagine. They are always making each other laugh. Although Drew now lives in California, and Ryan stayed in Michigan, they still find time to get together and keep the friendship just as strong today as it was 15 years ago.

Allison and Mary have been best friends since Allison's family moved in across the street almost 20 years ago. They've always shared a love of clothes and marched to the beat of their own fashion drum when they were younger. From the first time they played "Pokémon Tag" together to recent adventures in Chicago, Allison has always been a constant source of happiness, warmth, and fun in Mary's life.

Kathryn Scholten

Most people have kept friends from college or high school, but Mary is lucky enough to have maintained a core friend group that began in pre-school. Kathryn and Mary have been best friends for as long as they can remember. Growing up they went to the same pre-, elementary, and middle school. They have countless memories of navigating childhood together. Mary feels incredibly fortunate to have such a strong, honest, and reliable friend in her life for so many years.

Gina attended the same elementary and middle school as Mary. Gina, Kathryn, and Mary were inseparable at school and have so many memories of their time at Our Lady of Refuge. Although Gina and Mary didn't go to the same high school, they ended up being roommates for three years during their time at the University of Michigan. They had many adventures together in college - they faced organic chemistry, pulled more than one all nighter, and enjoyed countless Game Days. Mary feels lucky to have had such a dependable and caring friend through so many parts of her life.

Mary met Sam almost 6 years ago when she began teaching at Arbor Prep. Mary was lucky enough to have the classroom directly across the hall from Sam. They both teach life science and have a deep passion for education, the earth, and making the world a better place. Sam has always pushed Mary to be a better teacher and person - Mary even chose to attend Wayne State University to pursue the same Master's degree as Sam. Not only did the two develop a strong bond as coworkers, they developed a strong friendship outside of work. Sam has always been there for Mary as she attempts to navigate early adulthood. Sam is the most loving and caring person and Mary feels so fortunate to have her in her life.

Cody Rhodes

Cody and Mary initially met about 7 years ago when they both worked at Fossil during college. The two ended up growing to be very close friends in a short amount of time. They've shared countless moments of laughter and joy together. Even after they both left their jobs at Fossil, they've stayed very close. They've been together through a lot of milestones - finding the loves of their lives, buying houses, and learning to raise all their dogs - and Cody has always kept Mary grounded, but laughing hysterically, through it all. Ryan met Cody 3 years ago when he started dating Mary. Ryan quickly realized that Cody was an amazing friend - loyal, loving, and hilarious. The two became friends quickly and Ryan is so happy to have such a supportive and reliable friend in his life.

Keith came into Mary's life about 5 years ago when he and Cody began dating. Mary quickly realized what an amazing person Keith was and is so grateful to have had Keith's friendship all these years. He has helped Mary on countless occasions and is one of the most dependable people she's ever met. When Ryan entered Mary's life 3 years ago, he and Keith quickly became friends. From sharing their love of 2000s MTV shows and music to their patience with Mary and Cody, Keith and Ryan have made a lot of great memories together over the past few years. Ryan feels grateful to have such an honest and dependable friend in his life.
