Surprisingly we met for the first time in Windsor, Canada for Alex's fraternity formal. I (Sydney) was set up as his blind date because my roommate (Sydney Dennis) was asked to go by our next-door neighbor (one of Alex's fraternity brothers) . With this formal being in another country, I was worried to send Syd Dennis (so many Sydneys.. lol) all by herself with a bunch of people we did not know so I asked our neighbor if he had any friends that needed a date. Alex Burch needed a date, and boom the alliance was formed. I was to join Syd Dennis in Canada for the formal with a guy I didn't know (and if he was weird, we'd make it a girls weekend). We first arrived at a sports bar when I met Alex, he was dressed handsomely in a peacoat with a plaid scarf and a button down. He was quite the gentleman, and volunteered to walk with us girls over to the casino to exchange money. From there he was nothing but funny and kind to us, introducing us to everyone and making us feel as just as much a part of the group. I was charmed, and It was love at first sight. We continued to keep in touch when we returned to Central Michigan University and started dating and have been together ever since!
Alex popped the question on 2.17.24 in Maui, Hawaii at the Waimoku Falls on our camping trip. It was a total surprise and truly breath taking! Shout out to Mikenna and Chad for getting "Maui'd" they are the ones that got us out there to explore the beautiful and incredible island to celebrate their love!
We’re getting married at a stunning estate! The house will be our home for the weekend, along with our wedding parties, making it an unforgettable celebration from start to finish. We'll exchange vows on the front lawn with the estate as our backdrop, and the celebration will continue under a beautifully tented reception on the side lawn that will be filled with good food, great music, and even better company! It will be a weekend full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments—and we can’t wait to share it with you!
