Lindsey and Ethan met during their Junior year of high school. Despite attending different schools, they've interacted long distantly through social media. Facebook was where they began conversating and learning to understand who they were as individuals. Shortly after the two became close best friends.
After nonstop communication through texting, Ethan and Lindsey decided to meet in person at a high school basketball game. (Specifically at Many Farms High School Gymnasium) It has been said that this was the first time ever hiding a secret from their parents. Minutes after trying to find one another, Lindsey was so anxious about what Ethan looked like in person, or what they would actually talk about, that they awkwardly made small talk until it was time for Ethan to go into the locker room and suit up for the varsity match-up.
"For quite a while, Ethan would tell me when his home games were and I would persuade my mom to take me. She would agree to it and almost every Friday evening after school, I'd look forward to making a trip to Burnside to watch him and his team play. This is where I grew fond of #75 (football). Before I made my way to the football stadium, my mom would stop at the convenience store and tell me to grab some snacks and a Powerade to give to Ethan after the game. (This is where I knew my mom cared deeply for Ethan.) After each game, I would always wait for #75 in the bleachers and give him small talk and hand him his snacks. I could never forget the little smile and dance he made before leaving back into the locker room. There was always a great amount of joy that I felt in supporting Ethan at his athletic events, and I'll forever cherish them. " -Lynn
After graduating high school and attending college, in 2019 Ethan and I reunited. It was an absolute complete shock to them. After catching up about their busy lives, they've slowly grown closer once again. While still working and attending school, they've managed to still be best friends and support each other's endeavors. Each major holiday meant giving small gifts or sending greetings and blessings to one another's families. Most significantly, being there for one another through this ongoing pandemic, they've never really seen each other in person but messaging and short phone calls were everything to them. Especially when they've lifted up one another and prayed for better outcomes. "Without judgment or hesitation, Ethan was there to give advice and listen to me cry, and tell me to slow down and breathe. I'm forever thankful for him and his kind heart. Who would have known that a boy from 8 years ago would not only be a best friend but a partner for life." -Lynn
On March 19th, 2021, Ethan and I decided to meet at our usual place in Burnside. (This was sorta our halfway point.) On this particular day and time, E and I had a long discussion about work and school. Then again.... towards the end of our conversation, Ethan had mentioned us being more than best friends, but a couple. After 2 minutes of silence, I laughed and told him to stop playing around. That's when he proceeded to chuckle and tell me that he was being real. With such a big question and request, I stood there speechless and scared. Ethan saw the look on my face and proceeded to calm me down. He explained his reasoning why and the purpose of being a couple. After 3 hours of talking, I told him that I'd think about it. Hours went by and then a day, that's when I sat down with my mother and paternal grandfather. At that point, I had to question my abilities to be a good in-law and etc. Slowly after, my loved ones reminded me continuously that I was just scaring myself and that everything would be fine. After a whole day of overthinking, I told Ethan that I would accept his request to be his girlfriend. We can never forget that specific day and the intense moment we had when we both accepted to love one another and fight through all of our bad days. It's been a year since we've distinguished our relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend, and more great news has led us here.
On this particular day, Ethan and Lindsey had just gotten off work on a Wednesday evening and decided to go to Gallup for a small outing. Like all other couples, they were both very nervous. At the time we've decided on a classic, which was Blake's Lotaburger. Lindsey recalls that Ethan does not like green chile and proceeded to joke that he was probably the jealous type because he couldn't handle chile. Over the course of the date, they drove around and talked non-stop. They've even played some pool in the Rio Mall. This was very fascinating because Lindsey mentioned that she deceived Ethan by telling him that she didn't know how to play. But in fact, she has learned in college and had actually beat him in a few rounds at the end. By leaving him surprised he instantly grasped onto the idea of what she was doing and he laughed & teased her for the rest of the night. After an hour of playing, they slowly made their way back home. But thanks to Ethan, he drove them back to Burnside and they both sang their hearts out to their favorites, Luke Combs and Morgan Wallen.
On Thursday, April 14th, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. Ethan and Lindsey became Mr. & Mrs. Pete. Through the Utah County Courthouse in Provo, Utah, and the witnesses of Jonah Nielson and Alyssa Ulugalu, Ethan and Lindsey said yes, exchanged rings, and signed/received their license. The couple did not warn any other party besides their witnesses. After the ceremony, they gradually informed their friends and families. (You may have not been invited to attend the ceremony, but a wedding reception is soon to come back home in Arizona. Also, a Navajo Traditional Ceremony is in the process of being thought out.)
